New AMC Track On Charity Compilation

The music blog HardToFindAFriend is releasing a digital download only charity compilation and it will feature a new track by the American Music Club. It is a holiday themed compilation and the track is called - You Cain't Always Get Whatchu Want (Original) which according to Mark is at least Holiday themed/inspired. It is released on the 13th of Nov and is only available via the blog for the princely sum of $7.

Updated: Guest Appearances

Down the side now you will see that I have added a list of compilations and guest appearances that Mark Eitzel has made over the years. I have included links to the tracks, the CD or (in some cases) the only references I can find. There are still a few more to add but there are a few mentioned there I haven't seen anywhere else. The Mitchell Froom one sounds interesting from the two words you get in the sample clip.

Obscure Compilations

Seems there are a couple of obscure CDs out there with Mark Eitzel contributions that I had never heard of before. First is "Dopamine" by Mitchell Froom. Mark contributes the track "Watery Eyes". Second is something called "One Act Plays" by Sonny Smith. I can't find much trace of it on the net anywhere but he is a fellow performer from San Francisco and chums with Mark. Supposedly it is 10 one act plays written for his friends in the form of songs.

New Tuatara Track

Looks like the new Tuatara album is available for streaming from the record companies site. By the sound of it Marks track is "A Spark In The Wind". It has a bit of an eastern drone rock sort of vibe to it.

Mark on new Tuatara album

It seems Mark is contributing to the new album by Tuatara, the side project of Pete Buck from REM and Scott McCaughey (when they are not being the Minus 5/3). It seems they put together a bunch of tunes and sent them out to their favourite singer/songwriters, Mark included, to write and sing on.

"East Of The Sun" is due out in June 2007 and there is talk of taking the band and the singers hitting the road. We will have to wait and see whether they come to the UK.
